This dynamic new video is the first of its kind at the state standard level and underscores the University鈥檚 commitment to equipping students with the critical competencies needed to succeed in their careers, communities, and personal lives.

The Kentucky Graduate Profile Academy was launched in 2021 by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education as a statewide collaborative initiative to embed 10 essential skills into all academic programs across Kentucky鈥檚 public institutions. These skills provide a shared language for faculty, staff, students, and employers to articulate the value of higher education and its connection to workforce readiness. KSU is actively weaving these essential skills into its general education framework, degree programs, and student support services as part of its Thoro10 initiative.
The Thoro10 Essential Skills:
- Communicate effectively
- Think critically to solve problems and create new solutions
- Apply quantitative reasoning skills to analyze and solve numerical problems
- Interact effectively with people from different backgrounds

KSU joins all eight four-year public institutions and 16 Kentucky Community and Technical College System campuses in fostering unified graduate outcomes, and elevating the profile of Kentucky鈥檚 higher education collectively. Participating campuses led by multi-year cohorts comprised of faculty, staff, and administrators share practices and implement the meaningful curriculum shifts
