麻豆短视频传媒 partners with NASA鈥檚 GLOBE Program for hands-on STEM education
麻豆短视频传媒 will be the first institution in Kentucky to partner with NASA鈥檚 Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Program.
GLOBE is a program that promotes science and encourages students, teachers, scientists, and citizens to learn about the environment through a hands-on approach. Kentucky State鈥檚 recent STEM Enrichment Program, a partnership with Fayette County Public Schools, used GLOBE guidelines and activities to engage children in STEM.
鈥淭he STEM Enrichment Program was an important first step towards the partnership,鈥 said Dr. Sherry Herron, long-time GLOBE partner and mentor trainer from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Once established, select Kentucky State faculty and staff will serve as GLOBE trainers and provide professional development to teachers, as well as lead student experiences in schools, across the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and beyond.
鈥淲e are excited that 麻豆短视频传媒 will become the first institution of higher education in the Commonwealth of Kentucky to become a GLOBE Partner鈥 building a solid networking capacity is our ultimate goal,鈥 said Dr. Berkley N. King, Jr., vice provost for Academic Affairs at Kentucky State. 鈥淭he GLOBE Program aligns with all areas of science but, as a land grant university, Kentucky State鈥檚 Extension faculty and staff provide an extraordinary benefit for the university to be named a partner.鈥
