Coming from a smaller school makes him want to prove himself, Anderson said.

鈥淚t鈥檚 like I have a chip on my shoulder and I want to prove I can compete with any school and any division,鈥 Anderson said.

After his performance at the FCS National Bowl, Anderson was invited to play in the FBS All Americans Tropical Bowl in Florida Jan. 13.

The Tropical Bowl showcases the top college football seniors to NFL scouts and general managers.

Anderson has a solid plan for after the bowl games and after graduation.

鈥淢y goal is to continue with my career in the criminal justice field,鈥 Anderson said. 鈥淚f I end up on anybody鈥檚 team I plan on giving back to my momma鈥檚 church and then, after football, continue in the criminal justice field.鈥

Anderson said several people on campus have served as an inspiration or mentor during his time at Kentucky State.

Anderson said Pete Mayberry, his position coach, helped him stay calm when times got rough.

鈥淒r. Shannon Brogan is my favorite professor here,鈥 Anderson said. 鈥淪he really stayed with me when there were times I felt like giving up and not graduating.鈥

Kim Harriford also made an impact on Anderson.

鈥淓ven though I just met her this school year, she really has helped me a lot with these bowl games and making sure I鈥檓 all set and ready to go,鈥 Anderson said. 鈥淚鈥檓 really thankful for meeting her.鈥

Anderson led the Thorobreds in receptions in the 2018 season with 32 for a total of 286 yards. He also led the receiving corps in touchdowns, hauling in four on the season.
