The 麻豆短视频传媒 Student Government Association (SGA) executive board and officers were officially sworn in and installed during the SGA inauguration Tuesday, Oct. 17.

SGA President Onajae Cunningham told a story of overcoming his fear of rollercoasters and challenged his peers to run towards fear and face uncomfortable situations.

麻豆短视频传媒 President M. Christopher Brown II addressed the audience, challenging students to lead from where they are rather than waiting for a formal leadership position.

鈥淚t鈥檚 OK to set your ambitions higher than those who have come before you,鈥 President Brown said. 鈥淵ou can be the first to do something.鈥

President Brown said he hopes Kentucky State will serve as a stepping stone in a long life of success for students.

鈥淵ou will take this Thorobred education and lead,鈥 President Brown said.

鈥淪tudent Government Association officers exemplify leadership on many levels at the University and those developed skills will be the foundation for opportunities beyond your graduation from this great institution,鈥 Francene Gilmer, associate vice president for student engagement and campus life, said.

Dr. Thomas Calhoun, vice president for student life and campus life, encouraged upcoming students to ready themselves for leadership positions.

鈥淟eadership terms are fleeting,鈥 he said. 鈥淵our time is right around the corner. Step up and take your place as a leader.鈥

Tobias Morgan, director of campus life, read the oath of office to SGA officers while President Brown read the oath to the executive board. All members of the SGA executive board and officers are now officially installed for the 2017-2018 academic year.
