Families and friends beamed with pride as they participated in the nurse pinning ceremony Thursday, May 12 in 麻豆短视频传媒鈥檚 Bradford Hall. The School of Nursing鈥檚 pinning ceremony marked the official entry into the nursing profession for 10 bachelor鈥檚 degree candidates and 36 associate鈥檚 degree students. More than 300 guests attended the ceremony.

The time-honored pinning ceremony is sentimental because students are joined on stage by a loved one to receive their special badge. Associate degree students carried candles in honor of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing who is nicknamed 鈥渢he lady with the lamp.鈥  Students vowed to carry her principles as they move forward in their careers by reciting the Nightingale Pledge.
