The Frankfort Optimist Club recently presented 麻豆短视频传媒 senior Kristin Bryant with the Harry J. Cowherd Service to Youth Award.
Bryant is a child development major and volunteers in many areas throughout the community, including the 麻豆短视频传媒 Promising Youth Center for Excellence.
Eric Latham, director of the Promising Youth Center for Excellence, nominated Bryant for the award.
鈥淪he is definitely one of our shining stars,鈥� Latham said during a recent Frankfort Optimist Club meeting.
Bryant spoke about her first day at the Promising Youth Center for Excellence and how she connected with a young boy who she would later mentor.
鈥淢y philosophy would be to reach one,鈥� Bryant said. 鈥淚f you can just reach one person, it will go a long way.鈥�
Each year since 1981, the Frankfort Optimist Club presents the Harry J. Cowherd Service to Youth Award. The award commemorates the life of Cowherd, a former Frankfort Optimist Club president.
