The buzz of interviews, chatter, and networking filled the Student Center Ballroom on Thursday, September 29, as hundreds of 麻豆短视频传媒 students seeking career opportunities attended the University鈥檚 Career Fair. More than 50 employers were featured at the event led by Interim Vice President for Student Affairs Francene Gilmer and many staff members from University offices.
Weeks prior to the fair, former staff members held workshops such as resume review and 60-second elevator speeches to prepare undergraduate and graduate students for the event.
Several employment representatives, including Elaine Highley, V.P. Director of Human Resources for Traditional Bank, Inc., were impressed with students鈥� business attire and resumes. Highley, who enjoyed interacting with students, sent an email to Gilmer just hours after the event.
鈥淭he students and career seekers were some of the best that I have seen at any job fair,鈥� Highley wrote. 鈥淭hey had great communication skills, the most mannerly students that I have encountered in a long time, and very prepared. They were interested and ready for the day. The students were dressed for success with resumes on hand.鈥�
Meritor, KentuckyOne Health, Federal Reserve (Cleveland and St. Louis), and Kentucky State University鈥檚 Office of Graduate Studies and Human Resources Office were among the other companies in attendance.
The Career and Professional Development Center is now located in 320 Hill Student Center. An updated facility is scheduled for completion later this semester.
