麻豆短视频传媒鈥檚 Division of Fine Arts and the Opera Musical Theater Workshop will present soprano Tammie Bradley on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 7 p.m. in Bradford Hall Auditorium.
A KSU alumna, Bradley鈥檚 recital is titled 鈥淗ome and Honored.鈥� She recently returned from her New York debut as Fiordiligi in the opera 鈥淐osi fan Tutte鈥� with Opera Ebony, an opera company that performs Classical and African-American heritage concerts around the world. She has also worked with the Houston Grand Opera.
Bradley will perform works by Gustav Mahler, Richard Strauss, Henri Duparc, Francis Poulenc, Giuseppe Verdi, Margaret Bonds and H.T. Burleigh at Saturday鈥檚 performance.
Tammie Bradley is a native of Versailles Ky., where she first began to hone her talent as a singer, pianist and organist. The soprano learned to sing by imitating her parents and taught herself piano and organ at an early age. She has performed in Kentucky with First Baptist Church of Frankfort, St. Paul of Versailles and Polk Memorial of Mortonsville. She later performed while a student at KSU with the Concert Choir and the Opera Musical Theater Workshop.
The talented songstress has won awards in prestigious competitions such as the Gerda Lissner International Vocal Competition and the grand prize in the Music Academy of the West鈥檚 Marilyn Horne Song Competition.
A resident of Houston, Texas, Bradley currently studies privately with Lois Alba. Her future engagements include performances of songs from 鈥檚 鈥淪uor Angelica鈥� produced by Alba and the Soma International Foundation in April and a national recital tour produced by Marilyn Horne and Music Academy of the West in May.
