Bio:

Dr. Shannon Brogan has been a dedicated faculty member in Speech Communication at Âé¶¹¶ÌÊÓÆµ´«Ã½ since 2009. She teaches a wide range of courses, including Interpersonal Communication, Public Speaking, Group Discussion and Debate, Persuasive Speaking, Interracial/Intercultural Communication, Institutional Communication, Voice and Diction, and Oral Interpretation. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Brogan serves as the academic advisor for students pursuing a major in Mass Communication & Journalism.

Her research interests span several key areas, including service learning, intercultural communication, learning styles, standardized testing, family and work-life balance, communication apprehension, instructional communication, and interpersonal communication.

Dr. Brogan maintains active involvement in professional organizations, including the Eastern Communication Association and the Kentucky Communication Association. On campus, she holds several key leadership roles, currently serving as Acting Chair of the School of Humanities, Acting Coordinator of the Whitney M. Young Jr. Honors Collegium, and Acting Coordinator of the Liberal Studies program.

Dr. Brogan earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication from Ohio University, her Master of Arts in Communication from West Virginia University, and her Ph.D. in Communication from Ohio University, with a concentration in Instructional and Interpersonal Communication.
